Duke Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science Professor David Needham has been officially inaugurated as the Danish National Research Foundation Niels Bohr Visiting Professor at the University of Southern Denmark.
Needham received the professorship to establish a Center for Single Particle Science and Engineering in the University of Southern Denmark’s Department of Physics Chemistry and Pharmacy.
One of the center’s primary goals will be to develop novel strategies for using micro and nanotechnology to improve drug delivery, specifically for cancer treatments.
At the ceremony, Needham presented a lecture that introduced the center and discussed some of the methods and techniques he and his team are using and developing to improve cancer drug delivery.
